Measuring 1.8" wide x 3.7" long, the Industrial Rail Hand Car is the most accurately sized motorized hand car made by any of the major manufacturers. The included figures stand 1.5" tall and are properly sized for O-scale. The Industrial Rail hand cars are only able to operate in forward direction.
These cars were sold under two stock numbers. 1000 in an IDM number while 10000 is UMD.
Hand Cars
A hand car, also known as a pump car, is a human powered track vehicle used by railroad workers in the job of inspecting and maintaining the right-of-way. Because of their low weight and small size, they can be put on and taken off the rails at any place, allowing trains to pass. Hand cars are no longer used by railroads.
