We recently received an exciting opportunity that showcased the talent of our youngest members. Christian, 13, Aurelius, 11, and their younger brother Thaddeus, 8, were featured in a live interview on FOX8 for their miniature replica of the FOX8 Television studio. This project, created as a tribute to the iconic Big Chuck and Little John Show, highlights the deep historical roots of Cleveland’s local TV programming.
The boys’ display includes highly detailed representations of characters from the show, such as Soul Man, Captain Safety, Stash, and Ghoulardi. For fans of the show, these figures instantly bring memories of the more than 2,000 skits that entertained Cleveland for years. The attention to detail, from the hand-crafted figures to the set pieces, reflects the creative work of the Mod Squad’s youngest builders but also their respect for the show importance.

During the live segment, anchors Gabe Spiegel and Tracy McCool guided the interview, which covered both the technical aspects of building the model and the historic importance of The Big Chuck and Little John Show. The boys also shared their favorite skits, including Christian’s love for the “Certain Ethnic Snowblower,” Aurelius’s fondness for “Soul Man,” and Thaddeus’s pick, the “Six Dollar Man.” Some of these skits were represented in the miniature display, allowing fans and newcomers alike to appreciate the show’s legacy and the detail that went into recreating it.
Before the interview aired, the boys had the chance to relax and prepare backstage, where they met with the anchors and received a few tips to calm their nerves. A surprise visit from Natalie Herbick was a welcome moment of reassurance, helping the boys feel at ease before stepping in front of the cameras. The entire FOX8 team made it an unforgettable and welcoming experience for everyone involved.
Following the interview the boys were treated to a behind the scenes look at how the station operates. During the tour they met even more of the Fox8 team including, weather man, Dontae Jones.
Looking Ahead
The Fox8 display will make an appearances at the upcoming Independence Toy and Train Show and the TCA Show at the Cuyahoga Fairgrounds in March, where even more fans and attendees will have the opportunity to see the tribute in person.
Stay tuned: The boys are busy working on a Studio A for their model. Expect to see miniature anchors Gabe Spiegel and Tracy McCool, studio lighting, crew, and yes, a ‘miniature-miniature’ replica of the Fox8 building!
