Railroads in the Park 2025 – Recap

Our club had a great time participating in Railroads in the Park at Lake Farmpark in Kirtland, OH. We brought our O gauge modular layout to the event, where more than 20 members helped set up and run trains. Young visitors were excited to see Al’s Lionel Barbie-themed train. We were blown away — over 3,000 people showed up, making this easily one of our most memorable and successful displays yet.

Several members also contributed to other parts of the event. Bruce, Scott, and Christian helped to get trains running on the outdoor G gauge layout, while Aurelius and Thomas assisted fellow member Ray with his impressive 6’x15′ postwar-style lobby display. Ray’s layout featured classic Plasticville buildings, vintage accessories, interactive buttons, and even a smoking volcano.

In addition to the main event, our club was honored to participate in an after-hours session for the Miracle League of Lake County. We enjoyed sharing our love for model railroading with this inspiring community.
