Somewhere down the line, the Morton Salt plant is buzzing with activity. The big blue, white, and yellow buildings stand tall against the sky, a familiar sight around here. Out on the siding, rail cars sit loaded and ready to roll. Another batch of salt heading out, because, well, when it rains, it pours.
It’s lunchtime now, and the food truck has pulled up, just like it does every day. Workers will gather soon, swapping stories while they wait in line, the morning’s hard work making them ready for a break. Before long, they’ll be back at it, keeping the salt moving, rain or shine, same as always.
