Railfest 2025

This year’s Railfest, one of the largest model train exhibitions and markets in Northeast Ohio, brought rail enthusiasts and the general public together for a two-day celebration of all things trains. Hosted by the local NMRA club, Railfest attracted a big crowd.

The Mod Squad Club was there too, right next to our friends from Trainz, who had two sales tables filled with model trains. From the moment we set up our layout, everything went smoothly, with no issues during either setup or teardown. It was a stress-free weekend, allowing us to fully enjoy the experience.

One of our favorite parts of the weekend was watching Bryan, our resident Browns fan, pay up on a lost bet to Cindy from Trainz. The penalty was running an MTH Steelers Train on the layout for all to see. To make matters worse the Conte boys even made a Mini-Yinzer-Bryan figure dressed in Steelers gear to display alongside it.

The Mod Squad layout was a big hit with visitors. The display drew lots of attention. Visitors gathered around to watch the trains roll through our detailed landscapes, and to chat with members about the layout and the trains running on it.

Beyond our display, Railfest had a lot to explore. Every scale of model trains was represented, with operating layouts. The vendor tables were stocked with great deals.

Railfest 2025 was a success. It was an great chance for us to showcase our work, interact with other modelers and attendees. Our display in the main gymnasium offered a great spot for attendees to slow down and enjoy some train watching after making their way through the vendor areas.

For those who couldn’t make it to Railfest, don’t worry! You can catch us again on March 29 at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea, Ohio for a TCA show. Our display will be even bigger and better, so mark your calendars and come visit us!
